View Full Version : [Tutorial] How to take a screenshot, and cut it into size.

This post is for abselutely beginners, first time screenshots
without screenshot tools, Vista users should use the vista
implemented screenshot tool.

I want to take a screenshot of this post right now.

Step 1 : Copy area
I press the botton "Prt Scr", nothing appear to have happend.

Step 2 : Run image program
I open photoshop, use any image editor you see fit.

Step 3 : New image and size
I press CTRL + N which is the shortcut for File -> New image etc.
And the size i set to match my desktop area, in photoshop it does
that automatic.

so all i have to do is press OK!

Step 4 : Paste stored content
With the new image open i press CTRL + V which means paste selected
content into selected area.

Step 5 : Select area with Marquee tool
Now i use my area selection tool, to select the area i want to cut
tool is often named Marquee tool.

Step 6 : Cut area
I press CTRL + X to CUT my selection from the image,
CTRL + C will also work, i just like to actually cut the image out.

Step 7 : new image
Press CTRL + N for another new image, and again ajusting
the size, if auto ajustet no need to.

Step 8 : paste and save
Press CTRL + V and your CUTout shout be pastet into the image.

Now you can save it, for other uses.
